The CCNE Alliance was created to develop and market the Canada New England cruise region as a premier cruise holiday destination, offering cruise visitors from around the world superior hospitality, unique activities, diverse destinations and authentic local experiences that are appealing to families, adventure enthusiasts and everyone in between.
CLIA is the preeminent cruise trade association, providing a unified voice for the industry and its members as the leading authority of the global cruise community. As the leading trade association, CLIA advocates for safe, sustainable cruise operations, supports tourism strategies that benefit communities, and promotes innovation toward net-zero emissions by 2050.
Cruise tourism is inherently regional, and Maine’s success depends on strong partnerships beyond our borders. As part of the Canada New England itinerary, CruiseMaine has been a partner in the Cruise Canada New England Alliance for over 25 years—advancing shared goals and regional connectivity. CruiseMaine also acts as a liaison with cruise lines and the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), strengthening communication between industry stakeholders and supporting statewide coordination and solutions.

CruiseMaine supports sustainable cruise ship tourism through promotion, education, and collaboration across State agencies such as the Maine Department of Transportation, Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, Maine Port Authority and direct engagement with Maine’s port communities.
