BELFAST

WHERE COMMUNITY AND CREATIVITY MEET

Belfast is a rare combination of small seaside village with an active social and cultural scene. Authentically itself, Belfast takes pride in supporting the inspiration of local merchants, creatives, and outdoor recreation initiatives. Whether it’s locating fresh Maine blueberries, finding fun local events, or where to hunt for the best sea glass the residents of Belfast are always welcoming and ready to help.

Visitors can take a walk through the history of Belfast with its Museum in the Streets or explore the Belfast Rail Trail. The trail follows the route of a passenger and freight line that operated from 1871-2007, and if you’re lucky, even still makes an appearance on weekends throughout the summer. Whether outdoor recreation, arts, shopping, or historic gems interest you, Belfast is sure not to disappoint.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Enjoy various hiking, walking, and biking trails of all lengths and levels at Belfast’s Rail Trail, Moose Point State Park, or the Hill to Sea Trail.

  • The Belfast Farmers Market offers locally grown and produced foods with plenty of picnic tables to enjoy meals with friends and family all promoting Belfast’s “farm to table” initiative.

  • Belfast has a bounty of galleries, festivals, home studios and a unique variety of museums - there's even one featuring old wood stoves, restored to their original glory from the 1750s-1850s!
